Rachel Green

Who am I?

My name is Rachel and I am a second year English Literature student at the University of Birmingham. Following graduation, I look forward to completing teacher training that will allow me to share my enthusiasm for the subject in the classroom where I will be working with children from Key Stages 3-5.

Throughout my academic career, I have developed and maintained a passion for consuming and analysing literature that has allowed me to achieve grade 9s in both English Literature and Language GCSE, as well as an A* in English Literature at A-level.

What experience do I have?

I have previous experience tutoring GCSE pupils and working closely with A-level students to aid them in improving their writing technique as well as introducing new ways they can approach texts, ensuring they have tools at their disposal to conduct in-depth analyses of literary works they encounter.

In non-academic environments, I have amassed years of experience working with children as a volunteer with Cub Scouts and a Camp Counsellor at an American summer camp. In the latter, I was awarded Counsellor of the Summer, which I hope is indicative of the attitude and enthusiasm I bring to my tuition sessions.
